Salamander Days 2026 (Salamandrové Dni)

Salamander Days (Salamandrové Dni) is the largest annual celebration in the historic mining town of Banská Štiavnica inspired by the town’s rich mining heritage.

The highlight of the festival is the famous Salamander Procession, a spectacular evening parade through the streets of Banská Štiavnica. Featuring miners in traditional uniforms, students, local organisations, musicians, and torchbearers, the procession recreates a historic mining tradition and attracts visitors from across Slovakia and beyond.

Alongside the procession, the festival offers several days of concerts, cultural performances, exhibitions, markets, family activities, and community celebrations.
